Frequently Asked Questions

general | design | sync
  • Sync? What's that?

Once set up on each computer (see Tools > Sync), you'll be able to share tasks between multiple computers (e.g. work and home) without having to physically move the file back and forth. Tudumo will handle it for you, by sending and fetching changes to and from the Tudumo server. You can also use it as an online backup or to move your tasks from an old to a new computer.

  • What does it cost?

It's free. I might charge for advanced services later (team sharing, etc), but sync is free.

  • Where is my data stored?

Tudumo's data is stored on a Google cloud service. This means Google looks after the servers, making them safer, more scalable and more reliable than I could ever hope to make them. Tasks are some of your most important data, so it's best to handle them with care.

  • How safe or private is my data?

Communications are encrypted over SSL and the servers are probably much safer than the computers we work on. At present all data is stored as-is on the server, so I could feasibly look at the data, which is the situation on most online services. In future I'll add an extra protection layer so for those who want it, data won't be understandable on the server. This will mean that when I build a web view, those users won't be able to use it, but it'll be their choice. In addition, Tudumo almost supports loading real-time changes from the disk drive, so if you trust other service providers such as Dropbox you'll be able to use them to sync instead.
